Double DVD Eat the video

In 1982 the members of the Dutch Kate Bush Fanclub made a frantic attempt to get the Kate Bush Efteling special on TV again by sending many postcards to the Tros. Serious plans were indeed made to re-un the special, but in the end this didn't happen, because the picture quality had deteriorated in the first instance, and they didn't think it was justified to rebroadcast it on TV. Later the videotape  turned out to be untraceable, and there wasn’t a  proper copy of it. All in all, a huge disappointment to many Kate Bush fans, who had hoped for a re-run . Years later, around 2021, the Tros (Toppop) still posted a qualitatively reasonable copy on YouTube! You can read the answer from the Tros to the many postcards from the Dutch fans below !!
Bad VHS copies circulated among fans. A copy of the special is also included on a dubberl DVD issued by American Kate Bush fans. This is probably a copy that was sent by EMI to New Zealand, but was never broadcast on TV there. The DVD is known as “The Love Hound Collection—Eat the video” and is regularly offered on sites such as Marktplaats and E-Bay.

The huge amount of postcards which we received from the members of the Dutch Kate Bush Fanclub, have made us consider to broadcast the Kate Bush Efteling special once more , in the summer of 1982.

However, we can took the film out of the archives, and we came to to the decision not to broadcast the film again, due to a great loss of picture quality…

We do understand that after all the trouble the Fanclub members went through, to get the special back on tv…that it must a huge disappointment for you all.  But we realize

Nobody wants to see a bad quality film.

We felt very ashamed when we read your lovely letter We had already planned a broadcast for the Kate Bush Efteling music special, somewhere in June 1082. But we can not find the film anywhere…the thing just seems to be untraceable. And we  do not own a spare  copy….. at least a reasonable quality copy suitable for broadcast !
